Battle of Stalingrad
The Battle of Stalingrad, to experts, was a turning point in the war. The Germans were losing lots of men and supplies while the Russians took back their city. Before the German invaded Russia they had a deal so both countries invades Poland. After they both invade Poland, Germans turn on their word to become allies and they invade Russia. They decided to take over Stalingrad because it was named after Stalin and Hitler hate him. Stalin didn't want to lose the city to the Germans. Stalin threw everything he had at Stalingrad so did Hitler. It was fought in 1942 through 1943 in the cold winter. Hitler ordered General Friedrich Paulus to take some oil fields that were passed Stalingrad. This required to take Stalingrad. General Paulus ran out of supplies twice and had to stop before getting to Stalingrad.

Roosevelt and Churchill created a theater in Africa to make progress to the European theater. After Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin came to an agreement they decided to invade France. They called it Operation Overlord. Dwight Eisenhower would lead the offensive on the shores of Normandy, France. The plan included assaults on 5 beaches with code names.
