U.S.
The U.S. didn't have a home front until after the attack on Pearl Harbor. After the attack the U.S. rationed may things including food, and clothes. Women became a part of the workforce, because most of the men were off in Europe fighting. The people in the U.S. depended highly on the radio broadcasts that reported on what was happening overseas.
Britain
The British population were kept in high moral because the Ministry of Information were trying to boost moral using propaganda, and they also tried their best to delay many of the publishing's the press were putting out that had pictures of bombed houses in London. They also had The Home Guard, which was basically a militia that would be used if Germany ever invaded Britain.
Soviet union
The Soviet Union's home front suffered a lot during the war. This was because Germany destroyed much of what made up the Soviet Union's industries such as Agriculture. Because of this nearly all of the Soviet Union became occupied with helping out the war effort. A lot of the soviet population died from starvation, instead of the Germans because of food shortages.
Germany
The German home front was based on the economy. Germany used a lot more labor to get food, but they had to ration a lot of it, because they had very little. Germany employed a lot of forced labor and POWs to get work done because they couldn't hire normal workers. Even tough they rationed, most of the germen people had more than enough food and clothes.
Japan
The Japanese home front was very disorganized compared to other countries. The home front focused more on propaganda than other important necessities such as food, and the safety of civilians. A lot of women entered the labor force during world war II. Most of the population of small towns was moved into the countryside because they worried about air raids and enemy attacks.
