Adolf Hitler was born on 20 April 1889 in Braunau, Austria.
In his early years in school Hitler had great intellectual potential, and was extremely
popular with his peers. When he was 15 he failed his exams in school and left
without getting a formal education. At the age of 18 Hitler used the money he
had inherited from his father to tried to pursue a career in art, after getting
denied by two major collages, ( Vienna
Academy of Art and the School of Architecture) he decided to give up. He joined
in WW1 and rose to the rank of corporal. Hitler joined the German Workers
political party after the war, because he agreed with their ideologies and soon
became known for his passionate speeches for their cause. He quickly became the
leader of the party and renamed it the National Socialist German Workers' Party
or the Nazi party. Due to the depression Hitler’s party grew and he soon was
able to become Chancellor of Germany due to his immense popularity. He used his
power to appoint Nazis in the government and gained control of emergency
powers. After the president of Germany died in 1934, Hitler became the leader
of Germany. He then started using propaganda, and making enemies such as the Jews,
to try and start a war. It was on
September 1st, 1939, that Hitler invaded Poland effectively starting
World War 2. Hitler didn’t have many accomplishments during the war other than
taking over and invading a lot of countries.
